Native to the state of Oaxaca in Mexico, this species is the only red flowering plant in the genus. It’s our absolute favorite species and you can see why! The intense colored flowers  almost appear Neon red and call your eyeballs right to them!
Pinguicula or butterworts are not only grown for their ability to capture insects, but their flowers are cheery and come in a variety of colors. Depending on the species, the leaves can be small or large with colors ranging from green, and blue to red tones. They resemble succulents, but certainly never like to dry out.

Mexican pinguicula are great houseplants. Although they won't completely solve your gnat issues, they sure can capture quite a few. They prefer a sunny windowsill and always standing in a shallow saucer of water at all times. The flower all year long in the greenhouse.

 Bright, indirect light. Distilled/RO water.
