One of our most vigorous hybrids that produces stunning magenta flowers all year long and readily offsets.
Pinguicula or butterworts are not only grown for their ability to capture insects, but their flowers are cheery and come in a variety of colors. Depending on the species, the leaves can be small or large with colors ranging from green, and blue to red tones. They resemble succulents, but certainly never like to dry out.
Mexican pinguicula are great houseplants. Although they won't completely solve your gnat issues, they sure can capture quite a few. They prefer a sunny windowsill and always standing in a shallow saucer of water.
