This is a seed grown tropical pitcher created by Shinya Yamada in Japan. Shinya has one of the the largest Nepenthes collections in the world and owns some of the rarest Nepenthes there are! He just started producing some mouth watering gems and we are excited to offer them to you!
Nepenthes are primarily native to Southeast Asia. There are roughly 180 species, with many recently discovered in the 20th century. They grow anywhere from hot, sticky jungles to chill mountain tops high above the clouds. Tho Nepenthes were once thought to be difficult to grow, this is far from the truth. Most plants have adapted to cultivation quite well and the hobby is growing quickly. In fact, most tropical pitcher plants species and hybrids will thrive between 60-85 degrees Fahrenheit. Check out our Nepenthes care tips here. For an in depth look at different species and their temperature requirements take a look at this guide. -PRE-ORDER ITEM DUE EARLY NOVEMBER-
This is a fresh release from master grower Shinya Yamada in Japan. He crossed a squat form of truncata with the super famous N. harryana, which is (villosa x edwardsiana)! These should be similar to truncata x edwardsiana, but maybe better with the 3 parents in the genes? A MUST HAVE FOR THE SERIOUS COLLECTOR!
The main image shows the parents used. 1+ inches. Seed grown.
This plant should do best in intermediate conditions. It should be kept between 78-84F in the day and would benefit from nights in the 60’s. Nepenthes can acclimate to lower humidity levels, although the best results will be seen with a relative humidity range of 80% and higher. Bright, indirect light and pure water.
