N. (glandulifera x veitchii) x (spectabilis x veitchii) ‘RE’
It’s time to start rolling out the Redleaf Exotics (RE) in-house creations! We strive to follow in the foot steps of Exotica Plants with our selective breeding program. You can’t just mix any Neps together and expect great results! Of course they are all beautiful, but who doesn’t want larger peristomes, more stripes and more unusual features?
We selected our glandulifera x veitchii for the stripes and color and crosses it with our even more colorful and striped spectabilis veitchii. There is a lot of potential in the gene play when you double the veitchii in a hybrid! We are expecting a lot of stripes and color on these. So far they are proving to be vigorous and colorful at a small size.
The main image shows the parents used. The secondary images show the seedlings we are offering. 2+ inches in diameter. Shipped potted. Seed grown.
This plant prefers intermediate conditions. It should be kept between 78-84F in the day and would benefit from nights in the 60’s. Nepenthes can acclimate to lower humidity levels, although the best results will be seen with a relative humidity range between 75-80%. Bright, indirect light and pure water.

Nepenthes are primarily native to Southeast Asia. There are roughly 180 species, with many recently discovered in the 20th century. They grow anywhere from hot, sticky jungles to chill mountain tops high above the clouds. Tho Nepenthes were once thought to be difficult to grow, this is far from the truth. Most plants have adapted to cultivation quite well and the hobby is growing quickly. In fact, most tropical pitcher plants species and hybrids will thrive between 60-85 degrees Fahrenheit.
