We are proud to release our own in-house grex of this outstanding species! We crossed our huge green form with the highly desired dark, narrow leaf variety! Fast growers!
Anthurium warocqueanum produces some of the most striking leaves in the genus which is how it got the name 'Queen Anthurium'. The large velvety leaves produce striking white venation and can be well over 5 feet long. It's native to Colombia where it grows between 0-4,500 feet. Many are found growing as epiphytes, getting all they need from rainfall. Ours appreciate a lot of moisture and rich soil with the addition of sand. They don't mind the cool temperatures in our highland greenhouse and love growing right beside our Nepenthes as seen in the image.
There are so many plants that enjoy the same conditions as Nepenthes, most love high humidity and bright indirect light. Aroids, bromeliads, ferns, and orchids are just a few companion plants for Nepenthes. We love adding bromeliads between our tropical pitcher plants for a burst of color and texture! They also look nice mounted on driftwood. Ferns add a softness to the environment and really make the colorful pitchers stand out. Aroids add bizarre leaf shapes and orchids make great conversation pieces! The list goes on! Our collection has grown significantly over the years and we regularly take divisions from some of our favorite gems. Adding these treasures to your collection can really elevate the aesthetic of your grow space and allow you to enjoy it even more. We have been multiplying some of our companion plants and they will be available here from time to time.
